Writing Guide for young Students This is a guide for Primary school-aged children to use when writing particular genre. It is an A5 8-page booklet. As children work through the booklet, they learn the structure and features of the genre that is being used. This item is emailed as a 4-page file. When assembled, the booklet is eight A5-sized pages. Request your state's font as print, or precursive at no extra cost. |

1 – Cover: On the cover, children write the title, draw a picture,
and write their own name as the author of the narrative. (Title and
picture can be left until last, if desired.) Page
2 – Finding out about narratives This page has information about
narrative, and gives examples to help children learn the structure, and
textual features of narratives. Page
3 My Narrative Plan On
this page, children plan the narrative, using the correct generic
structure (beginning, middle and end). Examples of some of the questions
asked are: How will I begin? Where is the story set? What problem will
the characters have? Page
4 – 7 My Narrative
The narrative is written on these pages. Space is also provided for
pictures to be drawn. Page
8 – How well did I write my narrative? On this page, children are
guided through an evaluation of their narrative. Criteria for the
teacher’s assessment are also provided. |
