Polar Year (2007-2008) focuses on the effects that climate change
is having on polar ecosystems and communities, and the ensuing
consequences around the world. In this teaching package,
students
gather
and record information, suggest links between elements, describe
cause-effect relationships, explain consequences and express predictions
using group work strategies; record environmental changes by completing
an environment wheel; express a
preferred future vision by making personal wrist bands.

booklet can be used as a “stand-alone” activity for independent
workers, or as an accompaniment to the Lower Primary Unit of Work
produced by the Queensland Government and available free of charge on
